First, assemble and mount the small crane bracket. Verify the alignment of the base mounting holes, insert the bolts and nuts, and hand-tighten them securely.
Typically, electric winches are configured for seated or side-mounted traction; however, a completely horizontal installation is also acceptable in this instance. Ensure that the winch drum and motor are positioned perpendicular to the ground. Prepare a 12-volt battery, then connect the two leads extending from the winch to the battery terminals, observing the correct positive and negative polarity. Once voltage stability is confirmed, switch on the power supply.
Plug in the remote control, ensuring that the connecting cable does not hang loosely. To extend the winch cable, use the remote control to spool out a short length; then, open the cable hook located on the side of the winch and disengage the clutch. *Note: It is critical to open the hook before disengaging the clutch; hold the cable hook firmly with your hand during this process.
Familiarize yourself with the various components of the electric winch; specifically, secure the base plate of the cable guide assembly to the guide unit using screws. Once the cable guide and its mounting plate are assembled, attach the entire assembly to the base of the vehicle-mounted electric winch, aligning the mounting holes and securing it with screws.
After the vehicle-mounted electric winch and its base are fully installed, proceed to spool out the steel cable. At this stage, temporarily remove the two guide rollers located within the cable guide assembly. With one hand, rotate the clutch mechanism, while using your other hand to pull the steel cable outward. Once the desired length of cable has been spooled out, reinstall the guide rollers.
Connect the wired control pendant: attach the leads to the motor's terminal posts, strictly observing the color-coding (red and black) for polarity. Begin by removing the securing bolts and washers; loop the wire terminals over the posts, and then firmly fasten them back in place.
Prior to installation, consult the technical drawings to verify dimensions and fabricate a suitable mounting platform or winch tray.
Plug in the remote control to spool out the winch cable; open the cable hook and disengage the clutch. Manually pull the cable outward from the winch drum until it reaches the desired anchor point; then, re-engage the clutch and securely fasten the cable hook to the anchor point.
Mount the electrical control box in a suitable location and connect the main power cable from the winch. Connect the secondary pair of leads to the vehicle's power supply, strictly adhering to the red and black color-coding for polarity. Finally, open the protective waterproof cap covering the control interface on the electrical box, and firmly insert the plug of the control pendant.
